red and the polymer clay smooshers guild

What is it that attracts us to the color red?  The color of fury and passion, of alarm and heat, red is the color used to grab our attention.  Traffic lights and signs and fire trucks – all red – command us to come to full stop.

Red roses attest to love whereas red poppies are worn in memory of fallen soldiers.  Is it simply because red is the color of blood?  That we, by tradition, think of intense emotion as emanating from our hearts and those emotions are carried throughout our bodies via our blood and therefore the color red has such powerful associations?

Dunno.

What I do know is that red – and all shades in the red family – whether it be a rose, the belly of a recumbent dragon, or a  heart pendant – was used by members of                            The Polymer Clay Smooshers Guild on ArtFire to create these marvelous pieces.   Stop by our blog and see what else we are creating!

  1. Nice post. Works on the same principle as mine … red’s meaning. Love reading others take on it.
